As we get into the season of Epiphany, we look at the baptism of our LORD and savior Jesus and see the many ways in which his baptism by John the Baptist was the same as, and different than, our own baptism.

  1. The same in that He received the Sacrament

  2. Different in that He was not a sinner

  3. The same in that He was baptized by a sinful human being

  4. Different in that He would redeem us and He sends us the Holy Spirit

  5. The same as an anointing into ministry

  6. Different as an anointing into His public ministry
